Lmao, Whoa dude hold your horses, I’m not blaming Obama from a managerial standpoint or his inability to act upon the situation. (Although frankly, I was kind of curious what the Federal gov was doing about the thing)
I meant Obama getting elected as president supposedly symbolized a new level of racial tolerance in the States, but the entire Ferguson event seems to have stemmed from a debacle with racist origins.
It’s getting labeled as “White cops vs Black community”
Ah, sorry. A lot of people HAVE been trying to make Obama seem like he’s not doing anything about it which was why I went that route with it.
But yeah, race relations, actually, have gotten WORSE since Obama’s election. Within weeks of his first term, people were like “Oh, he only won because he’s black, it was trendy/cool to vote for him.” I mean, hell, it was only just last year I think that people finally stopped trying to “prove” that he wasn’t actually born in America, which was crazy.
Also, with the Treyvon Martin case last year, Eric Gardner’s death two weeks ago, and now this, it’s hard to see it as not being about race. Especially the way Eric Gardner and Michael Brown have been portrayed in the media since then. Gardner being immediately labeled as a hustler, selling cigarettes on street corners, which isn’t technically illegal, and then the cop that shot Brown tried insinuating that he was suspected of stealing a box of cigars, but no evidence has been brought forward that he was a suspect at all, its just the cop reaching for strands to cover his ass with really.
Yeah, race relations in America are shit right now, and it’s not looking like they’ll be getting much better any time soon…Trying to be hopeful is tiring…
